Legends of Old

The Viking Age began with the raiding of the Lindisfame Monastery in the British Isles in 793 CE, and stretched until the death of Haraldr Hardradi at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 CE. During this time the Vikings (Norse Sea-Raiders) ranged over Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland, parts of North-Eastern Canada (Vinland), Germany, Russia, and even to parts of the Byzantine Empire.

During this time they were feared for their great prowess in battle, and because of their swift ferocious raids from river and sea. As proficient seafarers they explored most of Europe and parts of Asia and North America. Trade became one of the most important sources of commerce for the well traveled Viking.

There was no part of Europe that did not feel the influence of Norse Culture, Art, or Myth during the Viking Age...
